Love at first tap

To say I love this keyboard is an absolute understatement. I have to resist the urge to take it EVERYWHERE. Did Hemingway carry his typewriter everywhere?? Thank you for this.

It arrived damaged. Have to order a replacement

My retro typewriter arrived in the mail today and I was so excited to use it for work tomorrow. But unfortunately, I have to send it back because it came damaged. It looks pretty. I opt it not to try to connect it via Bluetooth because it’s not gonna matter because I have to get a new one now but everything else works fine as far as it lighting up and I love the way that it types, but I don’t want something. That’s already broken. I want it to be in one piece because it cost me too much to arrive damaged. I will re-order and write a new review once I receive a replacement

Connection issues

Extremely nice keyboard. However, it has failed to Bluetooth connect to my iPad even after being charged all night. It will only connect if it’s plugged into the charger but still fail multiple times. I am contemplating on returning if the issue does not resolve itself. Super frustrating when I want to get to writing!

Beautiful!! But keycaps already fading after just a few months :(

I LOVE this keyboard. It's everything I wanted. The sound is nice and creamy, it's so aesthetic. It's everything I was looking for. However, I am knocking off two stars because I've only owned this for 6 months and MULTIPLE letters are fading. See photos. I'm not sure if I can replace the keycaps individually but do feel like the letters should last longer than just a few months. Battery life is decent, I'm not having the charging issue others are having it's fine. It's a highly enjoyable typing experience but, like I said, I really wish the letters would've lasted longer than just a few months.

CHEAPLY MADE

Cheaply made despite what it’s worth. I expected it to be assuringly durable, but I was disappointed. Another reviewer mentioned trouble with the charging port, and I had the same issue. I tried but could not plug it in as it was out of place. It is so fragile in its built (the body—not the keyboard area). I loved the typing sound, however. I just wish they made the product much more durable than it is. Right now, it doesn’t seem as though it’s a product meant to last. It seems tempting, and trust me, I know, but don’t waste your money on a product that can’t offer you your moneys worth.

Extremely Satisfied

BEAUTIFUL. Excellent quality, right down to the packaging. I look forward to using this for writing notes. Holds my iPad mini nicely. It feels nice and heavy like of quality, rather than a light piece of cheap plastic. Excellent design overall.

Flash delivery!

The giftee has been using the keyboard today, and so far, so good. It looks amazing, the packaging looks premium. The setup is easy and simple, and it brings its own cables. The item was received super fast, too! (like in three days). Happy with the purchase so far.

Has flaws but okay for purpose

I would give this 4 or 5 stars if the back lights didn't immediately stop working after the first use and my Galaxy Tab 9+ actually fit in the slot it's supposed to be able to fit in as the product description says it should. But, after 10 days of having it and using it so far, it types well, there isn't a delay in the typing or the Bluetooth, it has a satisfying click to it and it's actually easier to type on than a flat laptop keyboard, which I quite like. Not to mention the compliments I've received on it. I've currently been using my Tab's case to keep it up while I type, but it would've been nice if it actually fit in the slot. In the second picture is where you'll see clearer how it doesn't fit. I have to have my Tab tilted and without its case to be able to actually somewhat use the slot. Definitely not worth as much as $80. You can find something that does the same thing and looks the same for less. The wood color of it also doesn't look as refined as in the product pictures, it's just that sort of cheap looking wood-wrap, but the buttons make up for it. So far hasn't run out of battery life since I've had it, either. But can be charged with USB-C in the back.

Pleasantly Surprised! Buy It! WORTH IT!

This typewriter is absolutely stunning - I was a bit surprised at how nicely it was packaged - felt like a luxury box. The typewriter itself is beautiful, I haven’t even used it yet and I love the whole look and vibe.

So worth it, so in love with it.

Substantial weight, better quality than expected, easy to connect, wonderful packaging, dream to type on.

The very first device I connected this keyboard to was a failing Bigme S6 Color device. This device sucks in so many ways that I've had to turn off the sleep function. Anyway, the keyboard connected to it with no problems.

I switched to channel 2, connected it to my iPad mini. Started typing. No problem.

Switched back to channel 1, and got to typing on the crappy device again with no problems.

Fair to say I'm so happy with this. So comfortable to type on that the layout didn't cause me to have to have a bunch of typos until I got used to it; size is perfect.

What really blew my mind was when I was playing with the function buttons on said crappy device, it actually restored some of the functionality that was lost! Bonus!!!

So, I'm just worried about becoming deeply attached to this inanimate object. Prolly too late.

Beautiful but does not work for me

I just opened my keyboard, it's missing a control key. Is not compatible with my samsung tablet, there is no where to plug the dongle.

Stuck space bar

Beautiful typewriter but the space bar gets stuck when depressed. Feels used and returned.

Great Compact Keyboard

11.10.25: Update: I need a new power cord, so I contacted YUNZII customer service and they quickly addressed my issue. I emailed them Sunday, and I got a response today, Nov. 10, 2025. I have nothing but good contact with YUNZII customer service.

I ordered this and the #5 kept getting stuck, I contacted YUNZII customer service and they quickly sent me a replacement. This is great for money paid and I love the color pink. It’s light to carry and it seems to be of really good quality. If I ever need another one, I would definitely buy again but it I would request that make one in purple.

Best Typewriter-Style Keyboard I’ve Tried – Retro Look, Modern Performance

I love retro and nostalgic designs, and I’ve bought several typewriter-style keyboards in the past—but this one is by far the best. It checks all the boxes.

The build quality is excellent. The plastic feels super solid and heavy, and the overall design even looks a bit luxurious. It’s not just a pretty face either—some of the retro-style buttons actually serve functional purposes, like switching connection modes, adjusting volume, and more.

I chose the green color, and it looks very elegant—I’ve already received a lot of compliments on it. The integrated slot holds my iPad Air 11” securely, with no wobbling or fear of it tipping over. The viewing angle is also great for working or watching content.

Typing on this keyboard is amazing. Even though it doesn’t have adjustable stand feet, the design provides a perfect typing angle that’s comfortable even during long sessions. The keycaps are high quality, and despite the non-traditional layout, I adapted quickly and rarely make mistakes.

The sound is another standout feature. This model uses the linear Cocoa Cream V2 switches, which produce a deep, poppy, and super satisfying sound. I’m glad they didn’t go with loud, clicky switches like many other typewriter-themed keyboards—it’s refreshing and much more enjoyable for everyday use.

Yunzii really nailed it with this one. It has the nostalgic charm of a vintage typewriter, but the thoughtful design, elegant colors, and excellent typing experience make it stand out from the rest. The price is also very reasonable for such a unique and well-built keyboard.

I’m in love with it

This is one of the best purchases I have made, the color is amazing, the value for the money is a little expensive but worth it, the size is great, the sound is spot on and so easy to type with. I love this typewriter keyboard.

Crazy cool retro typewriter style keyboard that is actually good and supports QMK/VIA

This QL75 is the first retro typewriter style keyboard that has come out with the enthusiast in mind. But there are some drawbacks that are inherent with the design. The keyboard comes with a keycap/switch puller, USB C cable, 2 spare switches, user manuals/quick guide, and a cleaning cloth. This keyboard supports 3-mode 2.4/BT/Wired using the knob on the left side for pairing and mode settings, right knob is for volume. The USB C port is a bit recessed, so you have to use the included cable...or anything with a small tip. It also has a slot for a tablet or phone if you want to use the keyboard with those devices.

For an all plastic build, the keyboard has good heft. It has a lovely mid century Avocado green color. What as surprising is how well lubed the switches are out of the box. The stabilizers don't even have a trace of rattle. The typing sound is quite thocky as well, so it seems that there is a good amount of sound damping material inside. The carriage return lever has a very solid, smooth action with a positive click at the end of stroke. Everything has a high quality feel to it...it really feels like a typewriter. However, that's also why it's a little bit hard to type on. The rows have a good amount of elevation change like a real manual typewriter. With muscle memory from computer keyboards, this was bit hard to get used to. I do like how the keys are dished, so it's very easy to center your fingers. The RGB LEDs are North facing, so you can barely see them in a well lit room. They are super bright if you look at them from the top. The plate does look like it's some sort of plastic...possibly PC, but there is no flex.

VIA support is great as long as you download the .json file from the Yunzii website. You can even reprogram that carriage return lever to do something else. Overall, this is a super fun keyboard that performs well as a proper enthusiast keyboard.

Love It

This was better than I expected in person and I love the design. The keys sound and feel great. You can even remap the lever on the side to another key but by default it's enter and your volume controls are on the side as well. The fact it can be wired, wireless USB, or Bluetooth makes it even better so you can use it for almost any device.

Works with my phone, even works with a Kindle! Goofy and space-intensive, but so cool!

Okay, this is one of those strange things that is way more fun, and honestly, more luxe, than it has any right to be. I totally dig this keyboard. Now, I have a collection of old typewriters that I still drag out and use. I have typewriters from the 1920s, 40s, and 60s, and I love them all. When I saw that I could get a faux-late 50s early 60s typewriter to use as a wireless keyboard for my tablet or phone, I couldn't resist.

And it is really nice. The design and functionality are good. The shell is solid and the keys have great tactile feedback. The carriage return lever works as the return (or advance) key! Getting it charged via a USB-C cable was a cinch, as was connecting it via bluetooth. Now, the Kindle isn't a real tablet, so I was reduced to sending goofy e-mails to everyone I know in order to test the keyboard, but man does it beat thumb typing a message. I used it for about 20 minutes, with both the Kindle and my Google phone, and it had run down to 94% of its charge. That suggests it'll be good for four, maybe five hours at a time. If you connect it to your tablet via a USB-C cable, it will charge from the device, so be aware of that. I also turned off the LEDs on the keyboard, which use power and ruin the mid-century vibe. Your usage requirements may vary. It also comes a with a ton of keyboard shortcuts programmed in, and can be completely reprogrammed to fit your needs. I haven't tested that. I'm probably never going to use a quarter of its capabilities. But I am going to be using that carriage return lever to put a hard return in when typing up a paper!

Ergonomics are fine, although it does not put your screen directly in front of your eyes as is currently recommended. My Kindle sat firmly in the provided slot, with no wobble, as did my phone. The slot is only 10" long and 1/2" deep, so be aware of those limitations if you have a monster-sized tablet. This keyboard comes in a really nice box, well packaged, and has nice curb appeal so it could make a really cool gift as well. It isn't practical, it certainly won't travel easily, and it functionally turns your highly portable computing device (tablet or smart phone) into a goofy laptop. But goofy in the best retro kind of way that actually could be useful and productive if you use your tablet or phone to send a lot of messages and could use a full keyboard from time to time.

I love it. I recommend it. I recognize it is a solution to a problem few people have. I don't care. It is now sitting on my desk forever, and I will absolutely use it to send annoying dad-texts to my son at the speed of an experienced touch-typist that will swamp his feeble thumb-typing efforts.

Update: I have been using this for a month now, largely to keep up with my son who is studying abroad this summer. After 30 days of intermittent typing (about 15 minutes a day), my phone is reporting the keyboard to be at 96% charge, and the typewriter is self-reporting at 90% (it doesn't have any direct read-out, it lights up the F keys from 1 to 10 to give you an idea of charge remaining). Which means that for normal daily use, if you don't have the lights going, the battery is apparently going to outlive the sun. I don't even bother turning it off (which is done via an easy to reach switch on the back) anymore. Tap any key, and the keyboard wakes up and re-pairs with the phone or tablet with in about 3 seconds, and seems to stay awake for about 10 minutes or so thereafter. I am super happy, and getting daily happier, with this thing.

Beautifully unique keyboard

This is by far the most satisfying keyboard I have ever typed on. I learned how to type on a standard typewriter about 40 years ago, so this gives me that warm feeling of nostalgia. The keys aren't as clicky as an old-fashioned typewriter, but they have a similar sound yet softer and more appealing. I did have to get used to the feel of the slightly stacked rows, as most keyboards have closer leveled rows, but after a few minutes, I was really enjoying it. The round keys are adorable and I've not seen those on other keyboards. The rgb backlighting gives this a nice modern touch. Changing the mode is very easy, but i haven't figured out how to set to a static color as the directions for that function don't work for me. I like how the return bar and "page feeder" dial were given functions instead of just being decorative. The keyboard is much lighter than I expected but sits very still and stable when typing. The Bluetooth connectivity worked perfectly when pairing to my Fire tablet, and the responsiveness of each key pressed to appearing on the screen was instant. My tablet sat securely in the on-board device slot. And the packaging is stunning! I felt like I was opening a gift. Everything was in place and protected. The instructions are fantastic and easy to follow. This is such a unique keyboard to add to your collection or give to someone as a gift.

QA Crisis Averted!

I had to update the review to give this gorgeous keyboard the justice it deserves, without overlooking the brief issues encountered when unboxing the keyboard.

I was looking for a typewriter like keyboard for my upcoming birthday, and this pink Yunzii QL75 totally passed the vibe check. Most of these are equipped with blue clicky switches, but this one sticks out with their cocoa cream v2 switches. oh my god. It sounds absolutely incredible, low key and creamy. It provides the right amount of cozy and chill aesthetic to add to your workspace.

When initially unboxing, the keyboard did arrive with one of the rubber feet already off. Unfortunately, this caused a slight wobble to keyboard which I would not be able to tolerate when typing on it. So just as I was about to order a replacement keyboard, I found the rubber backing in the bag it was secured in. However, the extra switches that were supposed to come with the accessories are still MIA. So, not entirely a deal breaker per say, but a little questionable as to why they are missing.

Lastly, I got the RGB settings pretty much down based on what the manual instructs. However, setting the static RGB color is basically a bust. I can adjust the backlight effects, just not the stand alone color which requires a FN + ENTER. Nothing. What gives? The lighting effects are working just fine with the other key combo shortcuts, but locking in a single color is still a mystery to me. Not that its illumination power is all that powerful beneath the keycaps anyhow, but still subtle enough to peek through.

Aside from those quirks, it's really a well-built keyboard with an amazing satisfying keystroke and layout. Hoping the future batches are 100%, I would still definitely recommend this keyboard.
