I found the "secret sauce" that takes this wonderful recorder to the next level.
This is a great recorder in its own right. I especially like the “Tone” feature, which provides surprisingly effective enhancements to spoken audio without requiring you to run everything through an audio editor afterward.
What took it from great to even better for me, though, was discovering how easily I could use it with wireless microphones.
The “secret sauce” turned out to be a . This inexpensive little dongle accepts analog audio—such as the output from a wireless microphone receiver—through its 3.5 mm input jack and converts it to USB audio through its USB Type-A connector, which can then be connected to the PodTrak P2.
And the best part? It works perfectly.
If you’re looking for a compact, affordable recorder that can give your voice some extra oomph with virtually no effort, the PodTrak P2 is already a great choice. And if you also want the convenience of using wireless microphones, one inexpensive little adapter can make that possible, too.
For me, that combination makes an already useful recorder considerably more versatile.
