Quality of the video is horrible

This is the Camera System I Wanted

Picture A, is what came in the 2 boxes. Picture B, is the 1 TB hard drive and computer that runs it all. Picture C, is the back of the hard drive showing all of the connections that run the cameras. Picture D, are the 4 cameras that came with this system. Picture E, are the 4 bundles of wire, each are 60 feet long, with the power and video cables. Picture F, are the mouse for the hard drive, and one power adapter for the cameras and a power adapter for the hard drive. Picture G, is where everything is put together so I can test all of the pieces. This is where the 4 cameras are putting out video to my TV. All good for now. Picture H, is a cluster at this point as I am just testing menus and internet so it is a pile and will be there till I get 4 more cameras to test with these in a few days.

So once everything was put together, as I then went into read and test mode. I set a password, and the time. I set up the screens in different ways. I checked out everything I could and all went well for me. I did something wrong trying to sign into the company. I got signed in and then still have some problems there but I am pretty sure it will take me a little longer for that.

The biggest thing is getting eight cameras around my house and be able to watch what goes on around my house while we watch TV.

So I love this system and their instructions are well done. Everything I did do, is working the way I expected it to. Don't really need the internet to use them, but like to know how it all works. So I hope this helps your camera buying fun.

WHAT CONS WITH 14TB HARDDRIVE SECURITY RECORDS

Zosi security camera,HHD-0TB , I am testing those system of zosi security camera say max 8tb to be able records , but I decided buy 14Tb hard drives to see able record it though that able it not realizing max 8 tb. But I testing all, I notice one problem of con with 14tb but still able records. But cannot resets it will refuse function to be set os full corporate full function run to ready security and recording it, I decide red cable SATA unplug it and plug power up in full function run of Os and I am plug a red sata cable it works to recording camera. It cannot reset or turn off and power back it will refuse run properly it will keep reset loop it refuse properly function so I decide unplug red sata cable it will restart up then plug red sata cable it recording and run OK with 14tb. But =cons is had to unplug red color of sata cable then await system is function on and run and it ready recording then plug a red sata cable and it work full function. Add battery for electric plug to block power rage . It will run function long. Beware con if it pop up reset system, only way unplug a red sata cable then plug back red sata cable when it full function system.

8tb max of harddrive. But I try be overclock with 14tb of harddrive but need fix programming to be handle sata share with system while reset system.

The technical support is an AI/China

The technical support is an AI/China...Zosi will not backup to USB.. Show video on how you did it! ??? WTF?

Plenty of videos on how to do it, I tried 64gb usb but that is ExFat not 32Fat, 32 USB 32Fat did not work, 16 gb 32 fat the light came on the USB but would not read it! That is when they put me in a circle of Sorry! I needed the video for a police report they could not help me.. I just now started using the internet which after a week I was told I could of used my phone??? But I dont like my system on the internet because it crashes all the time and stops recording! Not sure how you return if they say they help you on thier Life time Support? I asked them if my cameras will work on this new box no hard drive 59.00 they could not help me? No support if you really need it only E mails no live person talking to you! If you have the money get a real system!!!

8 channel Wired system

We're just your average homeowners in a neighborhood that's being overrun with porch pirates & wanna be thugs destroying property. Our old wired system (Annke) gave up after 10yrs & my husband wanted something he could reuse the same wires with for the cameras. Initially 2 of the cameras were not working correctly, they would fade in & out all day, but after getting through to customer service & about a dozen emails we got hooked up with Ariana & she had replacement cameras sent. They arrived pretty quick & work great. Big shout out to Ariana "thank you"! So we're back up & running, able to see all kinds of critters, 4 legged & 2 legged roaming in our yards as opposed to the Annke system where all we saw was snow, so we're happy.

Doesn't work for purpose of security

So I purchased this a while back and the first one I had setup Online. I was having issues with my neighbors breaking into my apartments and stealing things and installing viruses on my computers. So I thought Hey why not catch them in the act. Well as Soon as I was streaming the footage of my camera system live with the app on my phone and took a walk to the mailbox the stream shut down and the system was locked, password changed. Well the same thing happened that I was locked out of it because the new one made me authenticate it online and after the devices first shutdown and restart it was locked again. After calling support who were very nice sounding, I found out that there is a Master password for the system LOL. So if you install a password Yes you read it right! The master password will override your password no matter what. On the call I also remembered one cord was broke and they offered to replace the cables for free. I kept it anyway -_- and locked it behind a difficult lock in a box.

I also had Huge issues with transferring the videos to a computer... I used a usb drive in fat32 to get them off. A fat32, ntfs, and exfat ssd drive will not work. SSD fat32 wouldn't read I think because of the buffer partition IMO; IDK wouldn't work. So onto the USB full of videos... USB to mac, PC, Chromebook nope. Didn't read even with VLC player On all devices. So I sat on it for a day frustrated cause I have other things to do and thought: ssd to chromebook and usb to chromebook transfer between drives then ssd to Mac and the files read!! Holy Poop Batman what a Headache!!! Aces Joker!!!

So... The night vision is decent the battery life on my small UPS is 3 hours; Purchased after having the power shut off to my building multiple times without notice when I left to the store. I know because I would come back and find it on start screen and things in my apartment moved or gone. The storage time is good for a 1TB I can get 1 whole month on it. I wouldn't recommend this brand though because of the cord issues and Master Password issue and App getting hacked. I've read that you can use it in tandem with Windows but it requires you to take down the firewall for connectivity which is no security. All this work just to clear my name and get some videos and sounds of my neighbors stomping on their floor and acting like Jerks... Hope the cool capture feature this thing has of sound activation and movement activation works!

The video is of the chromebook not working with basic .AVI vids. I didn't record it not working with VLC cause I was tired of this poop way before I download VLC and attempted it second day.

Decent Surveillance Kit. NOT 1080p as mentioned on listing.

“You get what you pay for”. That being said, this kit is great for the price. The only con so far is that it is 720p and not 1080p as mentioned on the listing.

Good system works great exceptional customer service

The system works great but sometimes on the night vision the people disappear and sometimes the motion detection is not fast enough if someone is walking by real fast it won't catch them.

What more could you ask for

This system is not difficult to install and for the price you are paying is FABULOUS! I bought my system and installed on all 4 points of my exterior home. It alerts us and I absolutely never open my door anymore without first checking the camera! The resolution is clear and the reason I am updating this review is to add tech support . I had to reach out because I couldn’t figure out how to get my 4 cameras back up and stationary and NO QUESTIONS ASKED NOR SAID.. oh this is out of warranty ..THEY WALKED ME THROUGH A FEW EMAILS AND EVEN GOT BACK TO ME..COME ON ; under $200 with tech a year later!? I WOULD RECOMMEND THIS SYSTEM TO ANYONE NEEDED A FEW EXTRA EYES WITHOUT THE MONTHLY FEES!!

Easy to install very nice!

This is a very nice home surveillance system. Night vision is black and white and illuminates a long distance. Hooking up wires is so easy and day videos are clear as can be with great color. I was also impressed with how well the box was shipped (See photo) and getting here was super fast. I’m very impressed with the system looks great! Hooks up to smart TV with HDMI cable (not included).

Don't recommend

The cameras are very easy to install. The issue I have is the app for my phone never works. It just always says offline. Try to get help is non existing. It will show on TV or laptop that it has a direct hdmi in. But on my phone when I'm away which is when I need it, it never works. So annoying.

Great !!

Had this for over a year now and can honestly say we have had no issues other then when power goes out sometimes it takes a little for everything to come back on but other wise no complaints!

We arnt to type to complete rely on technology (wifi) so for hard wired in cameras we like them, thought price was great too! Night vision on these are pretty clear too! We have the 4 camera set at some point want to add more! All in all it gets the job done, security for around our house which is more important to us then anything !!!

Good system and customer support

I purchased the 8 channel system that included 4 wired cameras in May 2020. I later purchased 4 additional cameras. I thought it was kind of difficult to get the DVR set up and running. Once I got it set up I had it set to send snapshot notifications via email. I had the sensitivity for each camera set at 8. This worked well until April 2021. Then the connection to the email was intermittent. I contacted support and Coco had me set the motion sensitivity of the cameras to 1, which Coco told me is the most sensitive. I don’t recall in the set up procedure of it stating which setting was the most sensitive — 1 or 8. Anyway, after making this change the email has continued working properly. I don’t understand how camera sensitivity for motion has anything to do with the email connecting. When I had the issue when the email stopped sending email notifications, I went into the DVR settings and tested the email connection. Most of the time I would get a notification that it could not connect with the email, even though I had made no changes to the email settings that had been working since I had gotten it set up the prior year. Maybe it was an issue with my internet service. The only other issue I have is when I view the video on my home computer using the AVSS app or when using the ZosiSmart app on my iPhone or iPad, the video will be fine and then the screen goes gray except where there is movement - see photo for example of what happens. Otherwise the video is good via the apps. If I view the video on the actual DVR, the video is fine. Again, maybe my internet upload connection is too low, but I have not received any information as to what is the minimum requirement for upload for using the AVSS and ZosiSmart apps. Very low quality system, don't waste your money

Numerous features do not function on this device. Backup/export of images only works on FAT formatted flash drives. If you have a standard, external hard drive from the last ten years, this wont work until you reformat and even then it's hit and miss. Then once you do find one that works, the codec is unsupported on Windows 10, so you cant review your video on anything other than the DVR. Not good, especially if you need to export something as evidence. Putting this on the network also does not function correctly nor does the PC app. Really disappointing.

Great customer service

Great system for the price, and the customer support is excellent. I had a camera that stopped working the day after I installed the system, and Slina in customer service helped me check everything and when it turned out to be a bad camera she had a a replacement to me in a couple days.

Takes long time to load live feed

Device is always off line and takes forever to load. By the time it loads whoever was in my yard is long gone. And when I bought it I did not know it needed a internal drive in order to see video from 5 minutes ago.

Great cameras. Great price. Easy to use and setup.

Great cameras. I mounted these cameras myself. Wasn't too difficult. I love the app. Super easy to use. Quick features for rewinding the footage. App always loads up smooth on my phone. Image is very clear. One thing to lookout for is the height at which the cameras will be mounted. If too high up your night vision will not be as effective, that's with most night vision cameras though. The 1080p resolution is good enough. I have 4 up but definitely will add 2 more at a lower height.

Good camera system.

Ive had this system since November. So far I really like it. Looking into getting a system for the house now. I can watch my farm without worry, the night vision is great for checking on goats during the night.

I can't believe it. For weeks now i have been trying to get the same camera for this DVR, instead all they have are cheap imitations. Now the entire set is no longer available. The first picture is what they used to sell, good cameras, now if you order that set they will send you the other camera instead. If this listing is out of stock, then LABEL IT AS SUCH. DON'T SEND SOMEONE SOMETHING THEY DIDN'T BUY. THATS GREASY!

The cameras themselves are more or less fine, for cheap cameras you get what you pay for, you might be wondering why this DVR and system is $100 cheaper than its competitors...

They cheaped out on the software, big time. I don't use many DVRs, but i can tell you the input lag/latency whilst trying to configure the DVR is HORRIBLE! Trying to figure out how to record things from that tiny display in broken english is simply maddening.

Moreover they have a bunch of ridiculous practices I am very against: One example, I f you like this DVR system and want to get a extra camera or two, YOU CAN'T!

If you want to buy one or two more cameras... you have to send the entire thing back and order either one with 8 cameras or 4... no inbetween?

This is a good affordable system. Set up was basic. Cameras were easy to point the direction I wanted. Getting it Connected to the internet for the mobile app was super easy. We moved the router box one day and I couldn't get it reconnected to the app. I emailed customer service and after 3 or 4 emails they had it reconnected. I'm sure there is higher quality systems out there but it works for what I need.

Worth it.

Absolutely worth the money. I’ve had a different swann system and that hard drive fried after one singular storm... this system has gone through several power surges, storms, and a tornado. It’s still kicking. I was able to use those 4 swann cameras with this device for a total of 8, just waiting to find the perfect spot for the last camera. It’s perfect. Easy to set up and use. The app was also easy to set up. Downside is that every time the internet or power goes out you have to reconnect the system to the app, but it is what it is. Not a big deal. I did give the night vision a 4 star because I wish it was just a tad bit clearer. The app has a feature that you can take screen shots and videos of recordings. You can go back almost two weeks. The zoom is incredible. Overall, I’d recommend this to everyone.

I recommend this ZOSI. It is less expensive, easy to install, with a great team

Purchased Dec, 2017. After a couple of months the system was installed the fan started to make a weird noise and eventually failed. Called up the customer service but got no help as i was already out of warranty. So I replaced the fan, and the systems is back online again this was around August of 2018. Sept of 2019 we notice that it is shutting down by itself and then started back up again, it happens numerous times in a day. I checked the system for any sign of malfunction or burnt smell.... nothing. It works, but is restarting so many times in a day. I even went to format the hard drive thinking that because of a full hard-drive is the one causing the restart or crashing. Nope still the same, so i unplug the LAN connection and i noticed it stops rebooting.

I contacted ZOSI techsupport because i can no longer login into the system, and I’ve got several emails with instructions what to do to no avail.

I communicated back that the procedures they ask me to do was not working, i got another reply this time from DORIS with instruction to upgrade my system with provided links what to do and it finally works.

After giving it a full year

I decided to write a review. For the money I think this product is well worth it. I had one bad camera and they replaced it quickly without a problem.

It does require some maneuvering around in the attic to get set up. I also bought some extra cables that were a bit longer. Don't skimp on the quality of these or your video quality will degrade. We have had temps -29F here in Minnesota and these cameras have worked great without incident. No fogging, condensation or failure of any kind.

Wi-fi set up could be a bit easier. Not quite plug-and-play but don't need to take any classes either.

Pictures show night and day images from my phone that I can see from anywhere verizon has a tower.

Again, great for the money, would buy again.

Additional 5/7/19: I see reviews commenting on the motion detection. Very sensitive and yet also works intermittently. Set it to record all the time NOT after detecting motion. The If you have the 1 TB DVR it will record several days in a loop.

Additional: After using these for a few years I thought I would add to this review.

A year or so into this my cameras stopped working after a bit of trial and error I found the power cord to the cameras was faulty. Found a "not quite matching" cord laying around the house and that seemed to work just fine. fast forward another year or so and night vision on all cameras and the camera with the longest video cable stopped working. Thought maybe 2 years was as long as night vision lights worked as none were coming on. Bought 4 new cameras and those ir night vision lights did work either. Contacted Zosi and they do try to help. You need to wait a day or so due to night/day differences. Something also lost in translation. They had no more help than the 7 fixes on their website and owners manual.

Got to thinking about that cord I replaced about a year earlier. Bought a new OEM cord and the system again works great. If you have night vision or long cable issues check you cameras power supply.

Quite happy with this product. Does everything it's suppose to (except motion detection, just turn it off). The hard drive occasionally makes noise if it restarts like when the power goes out but at this price can have a spare. NO MONTHLY OR YEARLY SUBSCRIPTION. YAY!

I am satisfied with this product it just takes a little bit time to work on it the settings patience is everything I installed this summer job so far I have not put a camera outside I do not know how it holds up on outside weather on the heat but oh so far away I can tell you in the inside it looks very good and I'm very happy with the quality
